Rail Trail Fun
The Timboon-Camperdown Rail Trail is a great spot to head out for a cycling or walking day trip. The full distance of the trail from Timboon to Camperdown is 34km, but you could select a small stretch. How about a 6km cycle to the historic Curdies River Trestle Bridge, a great little rest stop and 6km return ride back to Timboon? You could plan for lunch at the Timboon Railway Shed Distillery.
Timboon Railway Shed Distillery is open from 10am-4.30pm Daily (From 9am on Saturdays)
Skateboards and Scooters
The Timboon Skate Park is set at the end of the Rail Trail and has been designed to cater for skateboarders, bmx riders, rollerbladers and scooter riders of all ages and abilities.
It features a 1.5m deep bowl with half pipe and 1.3m and 1m launches, as well as a 1.2m high grind and various blocks, ledges and ramps.
After all that activity how about cooling off at Timboon Fine Ice Cream with a delicious, all-natural ice cream. There’s more than 20 flavours including traditional ones such as vanilla, strawberry and chocolate, as well as gourmet delights including Orange & Cardamom and Apple Pie.
Timboon Fine Ice Cream is open from 11am-5pm Daily.
If seeing where your food comes from is more your style, why not factor in a visit to Apostle Whey Cheese. As well as partaking in a free cheese tasting, you can go along and watch the cows being milked in the dairy at 4pm every day. The milk is piped straight from the dairy to the cheese factory where Julian Benson and his team make a range of award-winning cheeses.
The farm shop also has a menu including toasted sandwiches, coffees, cheese platters, milkshakes and gelato.
Apostle Whey Cheese is open from 8am-5pm Daily.
